Future Physicians Start Here

GUS Medical Schools offer expansive medical education and training delivered by dedicated faculty, the opportunity to undertake clinical rotations in the U.S. and Canada, and individualized academic and personal support for aspiring medical doctors.

Thanks to the GUS Med Shared Application, you can apply to all three of our medical schools – SUSOM, MUA and SMUSOM – with a single application, saving you significant time and money as compared to applying for multiple Doctor of Medicine (MD) programs individually.

Simply begin your application to one of our medical institutions, indicate which schools you would like to have consider your submission and share your order of preference. You will then receive admissions decisions from the MD program(s) you indicated. It’s that easy!

Committed to Your Success

At GUS Medical Schools, we are committed to fostering an educational environment where students can achieve their dreams of a career in medicine. We deliver many benefits and positive outcomes, including:

  • USMLE Preparation: Our Basic Science curriculums are designed to help students develop the educational foundations they need to achieve success on the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK exams.
  • Residency Success: Students receive personalized support throughout both the Basic Science and Clinical Medicine portions of our MD programs, which helps them achieve postgraduate residency placements at notably high rates.
  • Financial Support: In order to ensure that passionate future physicians are not dissuaded from a career in medicine by financial constraints, we offer accessible tuition rates and support via grants and scholarships.
  • Financial Aid: GUS Medical Schools are each among the select few Caribbean institutions authorized to participate in U.S. Title IV federal student aid programs. Canadian students in our MD programs are also eligible for government loans in their province of residence.
  • Individualized Support: Thanks to our dedicated faculty and intentionally small class sizes, students receive the personalized attention and support they need to achieve both academic and personal success in medical school.
  • Flexible Start Dates: To ensure our students feel completely ready to take advantage of their medical education, we offer three start dates per year. Begin your studies in January, May or September.

Recognized Accreditation and Benefits

Each of our MD programs holds an internationally recognized accreditation status. Our students undertake rotations in the U.S. (core and electives) and Canada (select electives), and go on to secure residencies and build practices across North America.

Alumni Testimonials

"My advice for anybody that is considering studying medicine would be to hit the ground running from day one. The learning starts at day one and doesn't stop. So just having that motivation to chase what you’re going down there for and then continuing on through your clinical rotations – maintaining that drive."

Julianne Falconi, MD

"What distinguishes Saba from other schools is the curriculum. It's a school that has been there for many years now, and has years and years and years of success in producing great doctors who have been working all over North America, including Canada and the United States."

"When I moved into clinical rotations, and with the support that the school and staff had given me, I was well prepared for the transition to the United States. I had everything that I needed, either on-island or in the U.S. during the core rotations period and through electives, to help me be successful."
